Middle Ages: The Black Plague
The Black Plague, also called the Bubonic Plague spread in the 14th century. The Plague spread along trade routes. The Black Plague caused painful sores to appear in the groin and armpit areas; dark blotches on the skin also appeared, die to blood leaking from the veins. People who experienced the Plague usually died within three days of contracting it.
